Ballroom dancing can be absolutely beautiful to watch. Women have always been entranced by its gracefulness and beauty, but the popularity of the show and some of the contestants that have been involved have gotten the message through to even the most resistant that any man or woman can be a good ballroom dancer. Many people think that there is no way they could do that as it is too stiff for them. They do not realize how well rounded these dancers are and the same steps that they are using for the Waltz are the cornerstones of other dances. Maybe you don’t want to learn the Waltz, but perhaps you would be interested in something a little more lively. If you are interested in this style of dancing, but would prefer to learn one of the dances that are a little less formal, you may want to learn how to dance cha cha.

If you are not familiar with Cha Cha, it is associated mostly with Latin dancing, but is actually fairly flexible. You will be hard pressed to find anything but smiles on the face of those that are tearing up the floor when doing the Cha Cha.

The first thing you need to do is get in rhythm with the music.When you are feeling the beat, you and your partner are ready to go. When you start, your left foot will go back and to the left. Rock up on your left heel and move your right foot back. Move you right foot forward again and then pull the left foot up tight to it.

For your next Cha Cha move, you go to the right by moving your right foot forward and to the right.Rock your left heal and move your left foot forward. Now step back with your right foot, move your left foot back and bring the right foot next to it.

That’s it, you just did the basic step to learn how to dance cha cha! Now you may not have understood some of the moves, but they are just basic steps in ballroom dancing. Learn them all, and you can do any dance you want! You will find that even though these other types of dances may seem a little stiff, they are just as much fun as the Cha Cha!
